I will be traveling so….

by susan on September 23, 2008

I will be traveling most of this week so I thought I would just post some beautiful (at least in my eyes) photos of my journey this far.

What angel is on your shoulder?

by susan on September 19, 2008

Egiptas2008 233 I have been teaching workshops for the past two weeks here in Lithuania. I have been mainly teaching about the Toltec tradition. I also receive the emails I send about angels, spirit guides and ascended masters.

This morning I got the message about the angel Elim and I particularly liked the invocation:

Imagine you are standing in the high desert under the pristine
night sky. The wind is cool and gritty as it travels over the
expanses of sand. The smell of sage lingers in the air. Take a deep
breath and ask for Elim’s assistance. The twinkling of the stars
will bring you the confirmation that he is by your side, supporting
you and guiding your way.

If you want to call him into your home, burn some sage or light a sand-colored candle. Placing a sage potpourri in the drawer where you keep your bills will attract the abundance to easily pay them.

I read this message standing outside just before dawn with a few stars still present because that is where I can get the Internet. Then this afternoon I went for a walk and found some sage.
Life certainly can be magical when we allow it to be. So what celestial being is waiting to land on your shoulder today?

Even pigeons are teachers

by susan on September 16, 2008

nida 107 As a young girl my mother told me pigeons were dirty birds, nasty rats with wings. I believed her.  The other morning I was feeding the swans and a pigeon landed on my hand. I felt its energy and gentle touch before I saw what it was. My heart opened and in an instant I saw pigeons in an entirely different manner.

I mentioned the experience to my translator and she agreed. Her mother also had judgments about pigeons yet, she pointed out that they are also used as symbols of peace. So, a pigeon showed me my limiting thinking and I had the opportunity to open my heart up and love another being I formerly judged.

I realized I could think of even pigeons as angels in physical form. What angles are in your life that you still have judgments about?

Calling all angels

by susan on September 13, 2008

Egiptas2008 226 It is amazing how many angels there are in my life when I take the time to notice. They are everywhere, in so many shapes and sizes. When I take the time to ask for help I am also amazed at how quickly it arrives!

To be honest, I didn’t have much to do with angels before I was asked to write my book, The Encyclopedia of Angels, Spirit Guides and Ascended Masters, but since then it has been an angelfest.

Life is like that one. When we feel unloved and judged we see judgment everywhere. When we feel loved and accepted we feel acceptance everywhere we go. Once we are open to angelic help we find angels everywhere and in so many shapes, sizes and forms! At least that has been my experience.

Whatever we focus on we get more of so I highly recommend focusing on celestial beings. They can’t do it for you, but they can certainly support you, guide you and help you feel loved.

Calling on help is as simple as saying ‘help.’ Being open and willing to receive the help once you have asked is a big part of it though! Angels and other celestial beings aren’t better than us, they just have a different perspective and utilizing that perspective is useful.

If you haven’t already I suggest signing up for my angel a day.

And as my friend used to say, “Angels on your shoulder!”

Susan

Angels are….

by susan on September 8, 2008

IMG_0938 As a young girl I remember having imaginary friends that were very real to me. When I spoke about them to the adults in my life they told me they weren’t real, except for my grandfather. My grandfather would smile and just nod his head when I spoke about them. Of course, he also took me fishing in a park without water! He was a very loving, gentle man with a wonderful imagination.

This morning at breakfast a woman asked me about a dream she had last night. She was frightened because in the dream she saw shining eyes looking at her. It reminded me of  a similar dream I had as a child. As we talked I realized the eyes I had seen were, for lack of a better name the eyes of an angel. At the time they frightened me, but as I thought about it this morning I remembered seeing love, concern and compassion.

My first reaction to something unknown used to be fear or avoidance. Since I have been exploring the angelic realms I know I am always safe. Knowing I am safe allows me to approach all of life with curiosity.

Whatever we believe we experience. Today I believe I am surrounded by angels in many forms. I know I am always safe unless I choose to pretend otherwise. That knowing makes a big difference in my life.

When I feel unsafe I take a deep breath and open my heart to the love that always surrounds me. Spiritual practices take practice so perhaps practice feeling safe and see what happens in your word! Magic is all around us once we open up to the limitless possibilities.
