Making a difference
I love this story and included it in my book on spiritual healing. It is so simple yet profound.
Thousands of starfish had washed up on the shore. A small girl began to pick them up and throw them back in so they wouldn’t die.
“Don’t bother, sweetie” her mother said, “it won’t make a difference.”
The girl stopped for a moment and looked at the starfish in her hand.
“It will make a difference to this one.”
We can only make a difference in our life and the lives of others in the present moment. Take a deep breath and make this moment count by loving whatever ‘is’ right here, right now.
You are love, you are loved and you are lovable.
With love and aloha,
Susan

You gently remind us that each effort we exert is meaningful and valuable. It makes sense to rethink the benefits of what we do for people or creatures other than ourselves. Rather than dwell on what we think we can’t do, we can choose to focus on love we share and express.
I think that so many of us feel that we as individuals, can’t make a difference. This is definitely something that I’m working on. Thanks for sharing this touching story:)
